David Lloyd Barnhart, age 67, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in Omaha. David was born December 2, 1952 and lived most of his life in Omaha. He was an enthusiastic boy scout and earned his Eagle Scout rank. He graduated from Westside High School in 1971 and took classes at the University of Nebraska Omaha. He retired from Western Electric after more than 30 years of service in the plant. David enjoyed many hobbies, including reading science fiction and history, working on cars and tractors and building model railroad displays. He was an avid lover of road trips, the mountains, Coca-Cola and cigarettes. He was quite the character, and always left a lasting impression wherever he went. David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Barnhart. He is survived by his ex-wife Terri Knoble and two daughters, Dawn (Knoble) Rasmussen [Blake] and Tristin Barnhart [Cody Rice], as well as sister Nancy (Barnhart) Hutton [Ken] and brother Steven Barnhart [Carrie] and their families. No memorial service is being held at this time.
