He enjoyed his family, but anyone who knows him, knows his passion was the horse track, loving the excitement of each race; monumental races from the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont and Breeders cup. Ready for the start, the gate bell rings, and the intensity of the announcer when they come around the last corner and states “Down the stretch they come” was music to ears. Darrell also had a lot of stories to tell. He had a punch line for all of them. He would have the whole room laughing and “Oh Darrell” was his audience response. Many afternoons and evenings he would go up to the bowling alley after work and watch football with his coworkers and family. You always knew what team he had to win.
