It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Cooper Schieffer, a bright and extraordinary 16-year-old whose light illuminated every room he entered. Cooper died on February 18, 2026.
Cooper was funny, kind, curious, smart and deeply compassionate with a huge heart.
Cooper is survived by his loving mother, Jess Schieffer; his father, Bryan Schieffer; his brother, Flynn Schieffer (14); his sister, Genevieve Schieffer (14); and many extended family members, friends, teachers, and classmates whose lives were brighter because of him.
A memorial service will be held on February 28 from 2:00–5:00 p.m. at Braman Mortuary & Cremation Services – Millard Chapel, 6505 S 144th St, Omaha, NE 68137.
A Celebration of Life will take place on April 11 in Boise, Idaho. Time and location will be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Cooper’s honor to Boys Town to support their crisis services and hotline programs, helping ensure that young people facing mental health struggles have compassionate support when they need it most.
