Christine A. Moore

Christine A. Moore (September 3, 1961 ~ April 11, 2026)

Christine passed away April 11th, at the age of 64, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed.

Christine was born on September 3rd, 1961, in Omaha, NE to parents Gene and Lucille Moore and has three siblings: an older brother Gene Moore, twin sister Crystal Noah, and younger brother Danny Moore. She grew up in Omaha and attended both grade school and high school at Holy Name. A few years later, she met the love of her life Joe Penrod, and had three sons: Vollie Zachariah, Christopher Matthew, and Gabriel Eugene Penrod. She had two grandchildren: Aly and Asher. She was so proud to be called “Nana” by them.

She spent most of her working days at Greyhound, then Oriental Trading, and finally at JC Penny. She was a bit of film buff, loved to sing and dance, and could always to be counted on to tell who sang this or that song or what other movies those actors had been in. Christine’s family and faith were the most important things to her. Her doors were always open to those in need. Over the years as her faith grew, so did her involvement with the Church and Neocatechumenal Way community. She spent much of her time volunteering at her parish Holy Name, and with her Neocatechumenate community where she developed an even stronger faith in Christ. In her last days, she was surrounded by many close friends and family members which she did not want to leave, but God had other plans. Her work here on Earth was done.

Christine was preceded in death by her father Gene, loving partner Joe, and nieces Jessica and Danielle Noah. She is survived by her mother Lucille, sibling Gene, Crystal, and Danny, sons Zach, Matt, and Gabe, and grandchildren Aly and Asher.

Eternal rest grant unto Christine, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
