Cecelia A. Grossman "Cece"
1/1/1954 - 7/22/2025

Cecelia Ann (Ceil) Grossman was born on January 1, 1954 in Nevada, Iowa to Michael and Mary (Cosgrove) Byers. Ceil was raised on a farm outside of Nevada, Iowa, along with her 7 crazy, loving siblings. She graduated from Nevada Schools in 1972, where she participated in band, playing the drums and was involved in 4-H. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Nevada. After high school, Ceil attended Northern Iowa Community College. From there, she worked at ISU in the Aero-Space Engineering department for a short time. Ceil then moved to Omaha, NE, where she worked for Farm Credit Bank for a time. It was in Omaha that she met the love of her life, David Grossman. They married on September 1, 1984 and later welcomed son, Michael David Grossman into the family. Ceil worked for St. John Vianney Catholic Church for 25 years, leaving to move her family to Kingwood, Texas, to lovingly care for her Aunt, Vivian Semrow. Upon Vivian’s passing, they returned to Omaha, before settling in Louisville, Nebraska.
Cecelia brought joy and warmth to all who knew her, creating a life filled with love, laughter and countless wonderful memories. Ceil enjoyed making some of those memories on the many family vacations that she, David & Michael took, while Michael was growing up. She enjoyed scrapbooking, and often to David’s dismay, shopping was one of her favorite hobbies. Ceil will forever be remembered by her family as the most clever gag gift giver, for keeping her siblings up all night at family gatherings and for her infectious laugh.
Cecelia met her Heavenly Father on July 21, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Michael & Mary Byers; her mother and father in law, Leland and Donna Grossman; brother, Patrick Byers; sister, Connie Robinson; brother in law, Bill Nosbush; sister in law, Trish Byers; nephew, Michael Nosbush and niece, Cvte Byers.
Left to mourn this beautiful lady are her devoted husband, David Grossman; loving son, Michael Grossman, both of Louisville, Nebraska; brother John M. ‘Mike’ (Kaye) Byers of Winfield, MO; sisters Kathleen (Kate Byers) Nosbush of Mora, MN, and Theresa (Byers) Knott of Omaha, NE; brother, Charles (Linda) Byers of Maricopa, AZ; brother Steven (Leslie) Byers of Fremont, NE; brother in law, Larry Robinson of Nevada, IA; brother and sister in law, Susan (Rick) Bormann of The Hills, TX; brother and sister in law Philip (Valerie) Grossman of Shenandoah, IA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
