Brian Lane McVay

Brian Lane McVay, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on June 30, 2026, at the age of 44. He was born on December 18, 1981, in Fremont, Nebraska, to John and Janet McVay.

Brian married Jessica (Barth) McVay, and they shared a life built on love, friendship, and family.

Brian was known for being dependable and always willing to help those around him. Whether family or friends needed assistance, he was someone they could count on. He was a proud "Trekkie" who also loved Star Wars and enjoyed sharing those interests with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Janet McVay; his uncle, Jeff McVay; and his cousin, Nicholas McVay.

Brian is survived by his wife, Jessica McVay; his brother, Wesley McVay; his nieces, Laiken and Mailey McVay; his uncles, Tom and Jim McVay; his parents-in-law, Perry and Susan Barth; his best friend, Dave Kappel; along with other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ashland Library, 1324 Silver Street, Ashland, Nebraska 68003.

Brian will be remembered for his willingness to help others, his loyalty to those closest to him, and the friendships he built throughout his life.
