Barbara A. Schreiner

February 26, 1930 — May 16, 2015

SCHREINER, Barbara A. of Omaha, formerly of Pensacola, FL and Roswell, GA. February 26, 1930 ~ May 16, 2015 Barbara Ann Barrineau Schreiner was born in Pensacola, Florida. Barbara graduated from Pensacola High School in 1948 and then from Sacred Heart School of Nursing, working as a registered nurse in private practice and later as an orthopedic nurse at The Medical Center in Pensacola. Barbara met and married Richard "Dick" Schreiner in 1952 and were married at the Gadsden Street Methodist Church in Pensacola then they settled in the Pensacola and Gulf Breeze area. In 1979 Barbara and Dick relocated to Roswell, Georgia, where Barbara remained until moving to Omaha, Nebraska in 2013. She is a former member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church and Roswell United Methodist Church. Barbara had many interests including genealogy research; travel both throughout the U.S. and foreign countries, politics, camping, gardening, and home improvement. Throughout the years, she was supportive of her children, grandchildren and community by serving as a volunteer with Girl Scouts, PTA and through her church. She was a proud member of DAR and a supporter of their causes. Especially important to her were their activities for veterans and the Tamassee DAR School. Barbara was a bright, confidant, strong willed woman with an exceptional ability to solve problems. At age seventy she was granted a patent for an invention she developed to remind her to close the garage door. Being an American patriot to the core, she had hoped one day it would be manufactured in the USA, never considering allowing it to be made in China. But most of all, Barbara devoted her life to loving her family and setting a positive example for them. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her parents, Bessie M. and William L. Barrineau, Sr. and brother, William L. Barrineau, Jr. Barbara is survived by daughters, Karan Llewellyn (Rick) Omaha;, NE; Susan Knox Cremering (Rick) Atlanta, GA; Ann Morris (Paul) Pensacola, FL. Grandchildren, Margaret Llewellyn Bruce (Steven) and Catherine Llewellyn. Niki Knox Vanderslice (Ed), Will Knox and Joey Knox. Chelsea Morris, Courtney Morris Knight (Chris) and Spencer Morris. Step-granddaughter, Brittany Cremering Bramlett (Jordan). The family thanks the staff at Hearthside at Country House and Serene Care Hospice for their compassion and care for Barbara in her last days.
