Barbara "Barb" Annabeth Winther

Winther, Barbara A. 9/24/1962 – 6/15/2020 The life of Barb Winther (Austin), was filled with many people. She touched so many with her kindness, love, joy and care. She told stories of growing up on the farm and playing in the rock quarry. She graduated from Tech High School of Omaha, Nebraska. She was raised Pentecostal & grew up attending Word of Life Fellowship. She went on to marry Terry L. WInther on August 26, 1983 at Mount Vernon Gardens., which was witnessed by many family and friends. She has three beautiful daughters, Silvia, Wynetta, and Nichole. She watched them grow and mature into the beautiful young ladies they are today. She had nine grandchildren, Genevieve, Dakota, Annabeth, Aidan, Landen, Devin, Vincent (Joseph), Krystal, and Naomi (Anna). She worked in customer relations and loved numbers. She even pursued a degree in accounting. She loved antiques, shiny things, and shopping at flea markets and thrift stores. During the holidays she was known for staying behind the camera and her cookie and candy platters. She would hand them out to coworkers, neighbors, and even the mailman. She helped so many and was the backbone of her family and friends. She was given the nickname of “Basha” when she worked at Office Depot by a dear friend because she said it was beautiful. She enjoyed camping, fishing, frog hunting, mushroom hunting, and traveling. She had a green thumb and could revive any plant given to her. She loved animals and had many from birds to snakes and everything in between; a few that come to mind are Grizz Bear, Sir Charles, Orphan, and her most recent puppy Zeus. She spent the remainder of her life surrounded by family and friends who love her to the moon and back. And she would say when asked, “How are you feeling,” she would reply, “With my fingers.” And as she would end every call, “Later.” Preceded in death by: parents, Russell & Velma Weight; birth father, Holbert Jack Austin; sister, Earleen Landreth, Father-in-law, Darrell Winther; aunt & uncle, Norma & Kenneth Willson; son-in-law, Darius Sewell. Survived by: husband, of years 36 years, Terry Winther; daughters: Silvia Sewell, Wynetta (Keith) Jones, Nichole Winther; mother-in-law, Dorthea Winther; brothers, William (former wife, Cindy) Austin & LeRoy Post; sister, LeArdis and Lynn Kolliemeir; many grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews, other relatives & friends.
