Anthony "Gene" Fees

Anthony E. Fees , “Gene,” 78, of Omaha died Friday, September 25, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1948 in Albion, Nebraska to Eugene Fees and Laurine (Ternus) Fees.

Gene grew up with 7 siblings – 3 brothers and 4 sisters. They lived in Albion, Wisner, and Aurora, NE until 1958 when they moved to Plattsmouth, NE where he graduated in 1966.

Gene married Susan Jasa in Seward, NE on June 20, 1970 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. While living in Ankeny, IA they had two children – Scott and Tamara.

Gene worked in retail both for his dad and for Edison Brothers. Following those years in Omaha, NE and Des Moines, IA – he earned an associate’s degree in computers which led him to his final work with Cox Communications. He retired in 2014.

Gene always enjoyed a variety of activities – especially playing cards, wood-working projects, completing genealogy, visiting with family, friends and neighbors, camping, golfing while they were “snowbirds” for 10 years in California, and watching both western and Hallmark movies. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him – he was so proud of their many accomplishments.

In 2025 he joined the Knights of Columbus at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church where he volunteered often. He and Susan attended many St. Stephen’s PrimeTimers functions over the past several years – making new friendships and deepening their faith.

He is survived by his wife (Susan), children Scott (Marychris) Fees and Tamara Chiburis; grandchildren Bronson and Zya Fees; brothers – Ron (MaryLou) Fees, Dan (Lois) Fees, and Joe (Gina) Fees; sisters – Emily (Bill) Pankonin, Cindy Hornback, MaryKay (Tim) Patterson, and Janet (Harold) Hammonds; and many nieces and nephews.
