Anthony L. “Tony” Cody

Omaha, Nebraska

January 30, 1968 – December 5, 2025

Anthony L. “Tony” Cody, 57, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on December 5, 2025. He was born on January 30, 1968, in Jefferson City, Tennessee, and spent his life chasing curiosity, adventure, and connection with the people around him.

Tony loved traveling and had been all over the world. Some of his favorite places were Qatar, Berlin, Paris, London, Tokyo, and Cape Town. He loved to immerse himself in different cultures, especially the local cuisine, and he never met a dodgy local food truck he would not try. Whether it was a sunrise hot air balloon ride or jumping out of a plane, he was up for it.

Tony was a United States Air Force veteran and served during the Cold War as a Russian linguist until the Wall came down. He then went on to be trained in Serbian and Croatian. That same quiet intensity he brought to language, he later brought to technology. Tony could always be counted on to figure out a technical issue, no matter how complicated or unusual, and he was deeply committed to excellence in everything he did. Clients admired his deep technical knowledge, his professionalism and transparency, and his genuine commitment to their needs.

People were drawn to Tony. He made friends easily, loved sarcastic humor and banter, and could always come up with a movie quote or song lyric that fit the moment. He also loved putting on massive fireworks displays, sharing light, color, and a sense of wonder with the people around him. Friends and family loved his quick wit and generous heart.

Of all his roles, the ones he treasured most were dad and grandpa. He loved his kids, bragging to friends and clients alike about their accomplishments, and he was over the moon for his grandchildren. Though work kept him much too busy, he was always looking forward to the next chance to spend time with them.

Tony is preceded in death by his father, JB Cody, and his niece, Kayla Cody. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patricia Cody; his mother, Trenna Cody; brothers, Wayne Cody and Jason (Kim) Cody; sister, Linda Wunschel; children, Lee (StevieAnne) Cody, Tiffany Sapp, Anthony Cody Jr., and Paige Cody; grandchildren, Arianna Cody, Grayson Cody, Daylin Cody, Kaiden Cody, and Carsan Cody; and nieces and nephews, Justin Cody, Lauren Cody, Adam Wunschel, and Emily Wunschel.
