Angelica Maria (Sánchez-Ariza) Dunning was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, on January 14, 1968. Angelica passed away on Sunday, June 25, after a brave battle with an aggressive cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alicia Esther Ariza Rodriguez and Luis Eduardo Sánchez Duran, and her brother Ricardo. She is survived by her husband, Kevin; daughter, Karen (Michael) Schweitzer, sister, Maria Isabel (Eric) Blum and brother, Luis Eduardo (Monica) Sánchez; stepsons, Gage and Drew Dunning. Having married into the large Dunning clan, Angelica also leaves a family of in-laws, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. “Such a blessing that this beautiful lady was part of our family.”
She was employed as a medical interpreter at Children’s Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Husker Weim Rescue, or Family Intentions.
Funeral Mass: Thursday, June 29 at 10:30 am, with visitation one hour prior to mass, at St. James Catholic Church, 4710 N. 90th St., Omaha, NE., with a luncheon to follow
