Obituary for Elder Rodriguez

RODRIGUEZ, Elder
12/11/1990 – 1/6/2021

Elder Rodriguez (30), son of Ludivina Rosas, was born December 11, 1990 in Fresno, California. He attended Madera High, home of the Coyotes, and enjoyed spending time with friends and cracking jokes. He graduated from Madera High in 2009. At 19, in pursuit of change, he moved to Nebraska City, NE where his aunt Emilia resided. Shortly after, he moved to Omaha, NE where he built his own community filled with his greatest supporters and friends.

Elder enjoyed muscle cars and drove his Dodge Charger often and freely. His love of vehicles prompted him to become an active member of the Metro Mopar Addicts – a community that continuously surrounded him with love and support as he faced his battle with leukemia. He touched many lives and will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. His sweet demeanor and his love for this community surrounded him with close friends that were with him until his final moments. Elder was called home by the Heavenly Father on January 6, 2021 at 12:25 PM. Elder, surrounded by family and friends, took his final breaths and found rest while in the home he had made in Omaha, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lucia Chona.

Elder will be remembered for his kindness, resilience, love for Friday the 13th movies and for Mike’s Hard Lemonade, his sense of humor displayed through jokes and pranks, and his ability to find joy despite facing suffering in his battle against cancer.

Elder is survived by his mother Ludivina Rosas; sisters Maria (Rodriguez) Villavisencio (husband Alfonso, children Pablo, Kamila, Milena) and Lucia Barrientoz all of Madera, California; dog Layla of Omaha, Nebraska; Aunt Emilia (Rosas) Perdomo (husband, Horacio, children Analicia, Esperanza, Daniel and Elizabeth) of Nebraska City, Nebraska; countless friends (including his Omaha family: Hollie Williams, Kathy Stratman, both of whom held a special place in his heart, as well as the rest of his Mopar family).
